Stabiliser Links

1. Role of Stabiliser Link

  • The stabiliser link (also known as sway bar link or anti roll bar link) connects to the anti roll bar which connects the vehicle’s left and right wheels.
  • The anti roll bar structure between wheels reduces how much the car leans when cornering, keeping the car level and in control.
  • With a McPherson strut layout the stabiliser link connects the shock absorber to the anti roll bar, with a double wish bone it connects to the lower control arm.
  • The stabiliser link plays a crucial role in car safety by limiting car body roll and weight transfer during cornering. By keeping the car level there is a better connection with the road surface.
