KYB has a mobile App to help technicians identify and sell replacement parts for worn suspension components.

The App is available to download for free from the App Store and Google Play.

In 2016, KYB conducted anonymous market research across Europe.

Multiple focus groups with technicians and workshop owners were held and one major piece of feedback was reported in every group; technicians requested more assistance from suspension manufacturers in explaining suspension issues to the motorist, so the motorist can make an informed decision to have their suspension replaced.

KYB Europe decided the best way to assist technicians was to create the KYB Suspension Solutions App.

The newest feature is the ability to search for KYB part numbers and view TecDoc fitting guides.

The App now helps you find and fit KYB products, as well as helping you communicate and sell.

The technician inputs the car details, either vehicle registration (limited countries only), make and model, or VIN.

The App then uses TecDoc to show the vehicle details, the KYB parts available for it, and provides a link to any fitting videos we have for that vehicle.

The App also provides a link to a vehicle specific fitting guide from TecRMI, all for free.

This fitting guide was created by the vehicle manufacturer.

The second function is used to help explain and suggest a suspension job to a motorist.

The technician inputs the motorist’s name and number.

The technician ticks the parts that require replacing.

The technician then ticks the symptoms that the vehicle is showing.

The technician can add a picture of the parts that need to be replaced (optional).

From the information provided, the App generates a personalised vehicle report that can be sent to the motorist for free.

The report is fully branded with the workshop logo at the top and is personally addressed to the motorist.

It is designed to inform the motorist of the dangers of driving with worn suspension and to allow them to make an informed choice about their vehicle’s maintenance.

A ”click-to-call” button is available, connecting the motorist to the workshop. Thousands of these reports have been sent already, on average 25% of them result in a call back to the workshop.

The third function is used during/after a repair job has been completed.

The technician inputs the motorist’s name and number.

The technician ticks the parts that have been replaced.

The technician then attaches a picture of before and after the job.

From the information provided, the App generates a personalised vehicle report that can be sent to the motorist for free.

The report will allow the motorist to see the work completed.

It will also outline the benefits in safety and comfort that the replacement suspension will bring, helping to validate the customer’s purchase.
